About the Journal

The Indonesian Journal of Women and Children Protection is a peer-reviewed journal that seeks to advance interdisciplinary research, critical analysis, and applied knowledge on issues surrounding the protection, rights, and empowerment of women and children. With a primary focus on Indonesia, but a broader international perspective, the journal provides a platform for scholars, practitioners, policymakers, and activists to engage with contemporary challenges affecting vulnerable populations. It emphasizes the crucial themes of social justice, gender equality, and child welfare, and fosters a deeper understanding of how legal, social, and institutional frameworks impact these groups.

This journal invites a diverse range of contributions, including original research articles, literature reviews, case studies, and policy analyses that explore a wide variety of topics. These include, but are not limited to, the protection of women and children from violence, such as domestic abuse, trafficking, sexual violence, and exploitation; the development of legal frameworks and human rights protections; and the mechanisms for improving access to justice and legal aid. The journal also delves into the complexities of gender-based discrimination, social inclusion, child protection systems, and policies aimed at advancing the welfare of children. Furthermore, it provides a platform for discussing mental health support for survivors, as well as the educational, health, and developmental needs of women and children.

As an interdisciplinary journal, it also explores community-based protection models, grassroots advocacy efforts, and the roles of various institutions in safeguarding women and children. One of the journal’s key priorities is examining the impact of emerging digital technologies on the safety and rights of women and children, particularly in the context of online abuse and exploitation. The Indonesian Journal of Women and Children Protection encourages submissions that bridge academic inquiry with practical solutions. It welcomes diverse methodological approaches, from qualitative and quantitative research to mixed-methods studies, with particular interest in research grounded in local contexts and offering a global perspective on best practices and innovations in protection mechanisms. By fostering this exchange of ideas, the journal aims to drive positive change for women and children through evidence-based advocacy and policy development.
